Singing Lessons
Throughout his career, Lorre has performed for and led educational programs at schools, libraries and nature centers across New York and New England. With a mind to both entertain and teach, Lorre engagingly connects folk songs, historical events, and social movements for grades K-12. These creative programs include the High School seminar “The Continuing American Revolution,” which invigorates American History and people through song, as well as environmental sessions which lead younger students on “A Musical Hike Down Nature’s Trails.” Lorre draws from his personal work on the Sloop Clearwater, his involvement with the Civil Rights Movement, and his dedication to a variety of current social issues for these programs. His love and knowledge of traditional and contemporary folk music permeate each presentation.
